The book of Ephesians is a letter written by Paul the apostle to the church in Ephesus, and likely also intended for circulation to other churches. Ephesus was an important commercial hub with a harbour allowing access to the Aegean sea, situated on the west coast of what is now Turkey. Paul wrote this letter during his imprisonment in Rome around a.d. 60. He gives a message that expounds on God's blessings and purpose, and His goals for the church.

Paul prays for the reader's understanding and reveals the steps God has taken to fulfill His purpose for the church. He speaks of spiritual gifts, and the Christian experience in heavenly realms and here on earth.
